Taj Mahal The Jewel of Muslim Art in Agra

The beautiful Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved third wife, "Mumtaz". The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art" in Agra and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage.
It remains a testament to the grief and power of the emperor Shah Jahan who ruled the Mughal Empire with its capital in Agra, for 30 years. He had the mausoleum constructed to honor his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, after her death in 1631 during childbirth.
