Upper Yosemite Falls
Photographer was the only one there at
the meadow this morning a few weeks ago, right after a light dusting of
snow had fallen. There's my car in the bottom of the frame. To have a
sight like this to yourself, especially in Yosemite National Park, is
priceless. Photo Credit

Why do whales, dolphins and sharks breach, or jump out of water
Why do whales, dolphins and sharks breach, or jump out
of water? The reason is still unknown today. Some theories suggest
playful behaviour, others prefer dominance, some suggest hunting while
many suggest breathing. A whale needs to travel 8 meters per second in
order to clear 90% of its whole body out of water. Why do you think
these mammals breach.

Goldfinch
The American Goldfinch is a granivore and
adapted for the consumption of seed heads, with a conical beak to remove
the seeds and agile feet to grip the stems of seed heads while feeding. However; It is a social bird, and will gather in big flocks while feeding and
migrating. This birds may behave territorially during nest construction, but
this aggression is short-lived. Its breeding season is tied to the peak
of food supply, starting in late July, which is relatively late in the
year for a finch. This species is generally monogamous, and produces one
