Kerið, is a volcanic crater lake located in the Grimsnes area in South Iceland. It is also known as Kerith or Kerid, a popular tourist attraction due to scenic route Golden Circle. There’re number of crater lakes in the Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone, which includes Reykjanes Peninsula and The Langjökull Glacier. It is one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone, which includes the Reykjanes peninsula and the created as the land moved over a localized hotspot, but it is the one that has the most visually recognizable caldera still intact.

This is a 55 m deep explosion crater that harbours a small green lake in the Grímsnes region, filled with water; steep circular slopes resemble an ancient Amphitheatre. The crater is nearly 3000 years old, often displaying intense colors. The caldera is well composed of a red and black volcanic rock. The caldera is approximately 180 feet deep, 560 feet wide, and 890 feet across. Kerið’s caldera is one of the three most recognizable volcanic craters. However, the other two surrounding volcanic are Seyðishólar and Kerhóll half the age of this.

Skógafoss waterfall, Iceland

Skógafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded seaward (it is now at a distance of about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) from Skógar), the former sea cliffs remained, parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometres, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the coastal lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland.

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall - Iceland

Seljalandsfoss is situated between Selfoss and Skógafoss, where Route 1 (the Ring Road) meets the track going to Þórsmörk. This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 metres (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is possible to walk behind the waterfall.

Hengifoss waterfall, Iceland.

Hengifoss is the third highest waterfall in Iceland, 128 m. It is located in Hengifossá in Fljótsdalshreppur, East Iceland. It is beautifully surrounded by basaltic strata with thin, red layers of clay between the basaltic layers. Fossilized trunks of coniferous trees, sensitive to cold, and lignite, which depict warmer climates during the latter part of Tertiary. Further down the Hengifossá river is Litlanesfoss, notable for the columnar jointed volcanic around it.

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

This is Seljalandsfoss, arguably Iceland's most famous waterfall. In a boundless green field, the cascade drops a whopping 200 feet from rocks above into a serene little pool below. The most insane part of Seljalandsfoss, though, is that you can hike through the back of the falls and view them from the inside out.

Iceland has become a favorites filming destination for Hollywood and these spectacular images definitely show why.

Known as the 'Land of Fire and Ice', with stunning scenery and otherworldly vistas, a photographer's dream place, says Peter Rolf Hammer, who captured these remarkable pictures on a five-week journey across the country. Peter Rolf belongs to Melbourne Australia actually inspired by Iceland's varied landscape from geysers and waterfalls to volcanoes and mountains. It is not surprise for me at all that Hollywood movies are filming in Iceland. The scenery is truly spectacular. The 69 years old photographer travelled around Iceland in a bid to capture its beauty on film and the results are an awe-inspiring set of snaps, filled with rugged landscapes and dramatic scenes.  I’ve always liked to travel those places which are not average tourist destination and where you can view the stunning landscapes. The nature beauty in Iceland is so amazing and varied from thermal areas to glaciers, mountains, waterfalls, glacial lagoons and seascapes. Peter Rolf travelled over 4,000 miles across Iceland, photographing the majority of the country.Source: Charismatic Planet

Iceberg at Jökulsárlón during sunrise, Iceland

I was 2nd person on the beach that morning in Jökulsárlón during sunrise, Iceland. Some other photographer beat me for 5 minutes.  I was so obsessed with photographing icebergs and the ocean waves brushing against them, that I totally forgot time.  Actually I spent 2 hours there, and by the time I recognized, my waterproof boots and socks had been soaking wet, and my feet were cold and numb.  Nevertheless I still enjoyed this place a lot. Hlauptungufoss is an unknown waterfall near Bruarfoss Iceland

Hlauptungufoss is an unknown waterfall near Bruarfoss Iceland.  I spent almost two hours in searching of Bruarfoss on my second day in Iceland, but due to inadequate and inaccurate information online, I didn't find it.  Nevertheless, I’ve succeeded finally and discovered this beautiful spot along the Bruar River where the clouds disclosed the snow mountain in the background.  It was better place than I was expected.  Of course, I was lucky to find Bruarfoss the second week with 6 participants of my Iceland Photography Workshop.  We were all excited that our hard work almost knee high snow trek paid off, but in some way this unfamiliar waterfall was still special.Photo Source: Melinda Shi

Sunrise in Seljalandsfoss Iceland

This is photo of sunrise in Seljalandsfoss Iceland.  If you want to see this beautiful place, you'll take a two week trip with snow or rain storm every day, when you see the colors of sky like (in this photo), I can bet you'll feel agitated.  The photographer (Belinda Shi) says; I didn't know about this until the end of my trip to Iceland.  Fortunately, I was assiduous enough to capture every single color I could see every morning and evening, provided it was not snowing or raining.  That of course was at the expense of sleep hours for the first week, and an average I normally slept 3-4 hours every day, but every single minute of my waking hours was well worth it.  The following photograph was taken on Day third of my trip in front of Seljalandsfoss.  I have driven back and forth this waterfall located in South Iceland at least four times during my trip, and every time was a brand new experience.
