Petra By Night Jordan

There is a nightly event called "Petra by Night" held at The Treasury in Petra, it is an unbelievable scene, the whole carved rock face lit up by hundreds of candles. Giving Lens, sitting under the stars, chilling out with friends, enjoying the atmosphere and relax and soak in the experience. If you are going to visit Jordan, make sure you book in for Petra by Night, the tickets are limited each evening so that the area isn't over crowded.

Hingol Mud Volcano

Hingol mud volcano are located in Makran District, Balochistan, Pakistan. It is a mud volcano located in Hingol National Park. These are not located on the main road about a kilometer off the main Coastal Highway leading from Lasbela to Gwadar; the locals may provide guidance to the exact location.


Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Common Yellowthroat warbler



Common Yellowthroat warbler in a flowering redbud tree, and was one of five warbler species ever saw on one of seven species that have been seen this week.  Actually the bright yellow of this male's chin and breast against the bright purple of the flowers and the other warblers seen this week were: ovenbird, Louisiana waterthrush, northern waterthrush, black-throated blue, black and white, and +Claus Holzapfel found a window kill worm-eating warbler.

Grey Crowned Crane

The grey crowned crane is a bird in the crane family Gruidae. It occurs in dry savannah in Africa south of the Sahara, although it nests in somewhat wetter habitats.

Upper Yosemite Falls

Photographer was the only one there at the meadow this morning a few weeks ago, right after a light dusting of snow had fallen. There's my car in the bottom of the frame. To have a sight like this to yourself, especially in Yosemite National Park, is priceless. Photo Credit

Why do whales, dolphins and sharks breach, or jump out of water

Why do whales, dolphins and sharks breach, or jump out of water? The reason is still unknown today. Some theories suggest playful behaviour, others prefer dominance, some suggest hunting while many suggest breathing. A whale needs to travel 8 meters per second in order to clear 90% of its whole body out of water. Why do you think these mammals breach.

Baltoro Kangri

Baltoro Kangri (also famous as the Golden Throne) is a mountain of the Karakoram mountain range in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Baltoro Kangri is the 82nd highest mountain in the world with an elevation of 7,312 meters (23,990 ft). It lies to the south of the Gasherbrums and east of Chogolisa Peak (7,665 m). The huge Baltoro Glacier which is one of the largest glaciers outside polar regions rises from the foot of Baltoro Kangri. In the north of Baltoro Kangri is the Abruzzi Glacier.

Occasionally the Big Island's volcanic emissions reach Oahu which causes hazy sunsets like this.  Here in the islands we call it Vog.

Goldfinch

The American Goldfinch is a granivore and adapted for the consumption of seed heads, with a conical beak to remove the seeds and agile feet to grip the stems of seed heads while feeding. However; It is a social bird, and will gather in big flocks while feeding and migrating. This birds may behave territorially during nest construction, but this aggression is short-lived. Its breeding season is tied to the peak of food supply, starting in late July, which is relatively late in the year for a finch. This species is generally monogamous, and produces one brood each year.

Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park California flows only in winter and spring. Most days of its “life” this fall has a regular color. But every February, just for a couple of days, this fall turns into fire. Lit by the sun, Horsetail Fall reflects orange and red rays.

Birds and cats, although two different animals but has a funny sense of brotherhood. Each other playing with each other.
